Are you ready for a complete curveball?
PCX is a managed services provider. Or, in tech-speak, we’re an MSP. So one of the main things we do for clients is . . .
. . . wait for it . . .
. . . managed services. (Didn’t see that coming, did you?)
But there’s a problem with describing our company that way. Given the vague nature of the term, what does it mean that we provide managed services? What exactly are these “services,†and how do we “manage†them? Also, does every MSP out there provide basically the same thing, or is there something about what we do here at PCX that’s different?
In answer to the second question, there is absolutely something we do that’s different. Several things, actually. We feel strongly that our managed services stand out.
But put a pin in that. We’ll get back to it. Let’s start by tackling that first question.
What are managed services and why should you care?
The overwhelming number of business owners agree that technology is a good thing. 72% say IT solutions make running a business easier and help them achieve their goals. That’s hardly surprising. Technology is woven into almost everything we do. Of course it helps.
And yet, try matching that stat up against this next one. 55% of SMB decision makers believe the technology they rely on today actually gets in the way of growth and adaptation. Said another way, we’re mostly agreed that technology helps . . . in theory. But in practice, more than half of all small business owners fear their technology might be holding them back.
Managed service providers try to address that tension. If you’ve ever looked at your own business IT solutions and wondered if you’re doing it right, then we can tell you two things. One, you’re hardly alone. And two, you’d benefit from working with an MSP.
Most small businesses can’t afford a full-blown IT department. We’ll go a step further. Most small businesses don’t need their own IT department. That’s usually a huge, unnecessary expense. But you still need support.
MSPs bridge the gap. A managed service provider can give you all the support of an in-house IT department, which is a real advantage for a small business.
At PCX, we call our managed service offering Absolute IT.
13 reasons to love Absolute IT.
1. All inclusive? Um . . . yes, please.
Managed services are the cornerstone of our business. Some MSPs break up their managed services, offering packages that only solve some IT problems. Not us. Absolute IT includes absolutely everything you need.
2. Everyone gets the Gold Plan.
We include everything you need for a single flat-rate price. We’re not going to upsell you from our Bronze Plan to our Gold Plan. We don’t even have separate plans. Instead, we assume that if you need support, you need the best we can offer, so that’s what everyone gets.
3. Everything. Just. Works.
We get passionate about technology. It’s what we do. If you want to know all the details about how we deliver managed services, we can tell you. But in our experience, most of our clients just want things to work. So that’s what we focus on – making sure things work the way you need them to, when you need them to.
4. No nickel and diming.
If something goes wrong and your network goes down, that’s already a rough day. The last thing you need is a surprise extra fee. We don’t do that. We’ll do what needs to be done to get you back online, regardless of whether it takes one hour or 100 hours.
5. Uptime, all the time.
We can’t promise that your network will never go down. Technology isn’t perfect. Things happen. But we can promise that we’re always focused on keeping you online. We know downtime is expensive and painful. We’ll work hard to minimize it as much as possible.
6. More bang for your buck.
We don’t see our services as a “time for money†proposition. We’re about value. You’ve got a business to run. You don’t have time to babysit your network. Leave that to us so you can focus on what’s more valuable to you – growing your business.
7. Saddle up, partner.
Along the lines of value, we’re committed to developing real partnership. It’s not enough to just provide IT support. We want to understand your pain points, your goals, and your measures of success. Then we want to come up with IT solutions that get you where you want to go.
8. We’re right there with you.
Because we don’t bill by the hour, we’re automatically incentivized to make sure your technology works well all the time. If you hit snags, we hit snags, too. You can be sure we’ll put our best effort into the work we do for you because we share in the benefits.
9. We have the BEST practices.
We have some seriously talented people on our team, deeply committed to the industry’s absolute best practices. Our recommendations for business processes, data security, redundancy, backup & disaster recovery, virtual CIO and vendor management will always be in line with proven strategies.
10. Extra options that make sense.
The only service we don’t include with Absolute IT is large project management. If you need to make a major change to your infrastructure, that will incur an additional fee. Relocation is a great example. However, we’re happy to take on those projects, and we’ll do them for an agreed-upon flat fee, just like our managed services.
11. Better than an internal IT department.
What’s better than building out your own internal IT department? Having an entire dedicated team with years of experience, the best possible tools, and a genuine investment in your success. That’s what we bring to the table.
12. Cheaper than an internal IT department.
Not only can we outperform most internal IT departments, but our Absolute IT is also more cost-effective. You get all the benefits of some serious expertise without the expense of hiring an entire in-house team. That’s a win-win.
13. This is the most important thing we do.
We can’t overstate this. Absolute IT is the most important thing we do. It’s central to our mission, and the cornerstone of our services. Said another way, we take it very seriously. When you trust us with your managed services, you’re trusting someone you can count on.
